Dear Parents

I write to inform you that from 1stApril 2019 there will be a 10p price increase in the cost of a primary school meal from £2.00 to £2.10 for paying pupils in Nursery & Juniors.

In Salford, primary school meals prices have not increased since 2016, our new menus now include British Chicken, Pork, Turkey, fish from a sustainable source, free range eggs and locally produced fresh vegetables, and meet the new government food based guidelines. It is important to note that school meals in Salford remain very competitive compared to other authorities in the North West.

Citywide Catering Service, as always remains committed to providing a quality service and healthy meal to your child at lunchtime and we will continue to work in close partnership with your school to ensure we achieve this.

If your child pays weekly for school meals, you should send £10.50 to the school on Monday (unless your school operates a cashless system) or the first day of the week as meals can only be ordered once payment is made.

If you feel you may be entitled to Free school meals, you can arrange this by contacting the Salford Council contact centre on 0161 793 2500 for further details.

May I thank you most sincerely, for your continued support for our service, if you have any queries regarding the provision of school meals at your school please do not hesitate to contact the Citywide office on 0161 925 1122.

Yours sincerely,
