Ruby Year 4
Welcome back to a brand new year at Brentnall. I hope that everyone has had a lovely relaxing break and you are ready for the upcoming year.
Your Year 4 teachers this year are Mrs Mendham and Mrs Thompson. We will work in two smaller groups in the mornings to support our learning in Maths and English and then we will all come together in the afternoon with Mrs Mendham for all our other lessons. We will also have support from Miss Savage and Mrs Richardson.

Music
We will have Mr Garbutt, our music teacher, coming in to teach us Music on Wednesday afternoons. The children will be allocated a brass instrument and will need to be kept at home to allow the children to practice and they will need to bring it in every Wednesday for the lesson.
PE:
PE lessons will be on Tuesdays and Fridays. We suggest your child brings their kit in at the beginning of the half term and then take it home at the end of each half term to be washed. You may choose to wash your child’s PE kit more frequently.
Homework
Homework is given out each Friday and needs to be returned by the following Wednesday. This will include a piece of Maths homework and spellings to learn weekly. If for any reason the homework is not handed in by a Thursday morning, there will be a lunchtime club on that day where the children will have to complete any missing work.
Uniform
We would just like to remind you to put your child’s name in all items of their uniform, including coats.
We are very much looking forward to working with you and your child, for what we’re sure will be a very exciting year.
If you’ve got any questions, please do not hesitate to come and ask.
